The Ministry of Whimsy

whim-sy (noun): the quality of being fanciful, imaginative, unusual and/or unpredictable.

The Ministry of Whimsy is a spontaneous, creative response to the shifting winds of the Spirit.  Today's spiritual landscape often emerges in ways that are rigid or binary and lacking in joy, enchantment and creativity.  We pop up here and there with art projects, lantern parades, music, sweet treats, full moon hikes or anything else the Spirit woos us towards.  Check here to see what whimsical happening we're up to next!

Georgia Pastor  School Lantern Parade

Whimsy struck again this summer at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island. An unsanctioned lantern parade wooed many a PK into the night with hopes of glow-in-the dark lemonade.  Glowing jellyfish, cat ears and lanterns of all shapes and sizes did their part to "reignite joy."

North Georgia UMC Annual Conference

The Ministry of Whimsy emerged out of thin air at this year's North Georgia Annual Conference.  Creative projects were passed out to all who desired them during the plenary sessions.  No one knew what was happening but they all enjoyed the whimsy!
